Katy and Gina met while working at another agency and became fast friends. Over time they realized they wanted to hone in on their niches and branch out on their own, and so K & G was born! We are excited to be part of the women-owned businesses in Bowling Green and continue to serve our community.

We currently offer mental health, substance abuse, anger management, and case management services to individuals and couples 15 years of age and older. We also offer conflict resolution consultations for businesses whose employees are struggling to get along.

We are located in Bowling Green, Kentucky and offer both in-person and telehealth appointments.

We accept all KY Medicaid, Medicare, most private insurances, and self pay.

Together we have over 17 years experience in the counseling field and enjoy providing our clients with quality service, making sure to stay updated and integrated with trainings and the newest therapies.

Is therapy for you?

Do you feel like life's challenges are becoming overwhelming? Is stress, anxiety, or depression starting to affect your daily life? Do you struggle to maintain healthy relationships or find yourself repeating negative patterns? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, therapy may be the right choice for you.

Professional therapy offers a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns with a trained therapist who can help you navigate through difficulties, gain insights, and develop coping strategies. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength and self-care, and therapy can provide the support and guidance you need to improve your well-being and lead a more fulfilling life.

What is the difference between therapy versus counseling?

These words are essentially interchangeable as they both have the same goals in mind for clients.

What do therapists do?

  • Empower you to become the expert of your own life.
  • Increase confidence in decision-making skills.
  • Assist you with exploring different perspectives.
  • Challenge you to be the best version of yourself.
  • Support you in developing a personalized “toolbox” of coping strategies.
  • Provide a confidential space that is safe and non-judgmental. (There are a few exceptions to confidentiality that are addressed prior to initiating services).

What is not a therapist’s job?

  • It is never a therapist’s job to give advice or tell you what you should do.
  • We do not prescribe medication, but can refer clients to outside services.

Do you see children?

Currently we accept children ages 15 and older.

How long is the session?

Typically, a session lasts up to 1 hour.

How frequently will I need to come to therapy?

This is a conversation that is individualized and determined between the client and therapist. On average, most clients are seen every 2 weeks.

How long will I need therapy?

This varies from person to person. Some people have very specific time limited goals that they are working on that can be addressed in a few sessions. Some people attend therapy for years at a time. As long as a client meets criteria for medical necessity, they can attend therapy for however long they choose to do so.

Will my insurance cover therapy?

We currently accept Medicaid and MOST private insurances. All individual plans are different regarding co-pays and deductibles. We encourage our clients to contact their insurance company prior to the initial session if you are needing to know specifics as far as out-of-pocket costs.
